Girls Bedroom Furniture

Written by Karen Bates (last updated June 9, 2021)

Finding the perfect furniture to decorate a room can be both fun and challenging. Of course, one of the biggest things you will need to keep in mind is who will be staying in the room.

When it comes to decorating a room for a girl, the possibilities are practically endless. There are many ways you can decide how to decorate. You can work with her to pick a theme, a color scheme, a particular furniture style, or decorating inspired by something else. The unique look of a girl's room has a lot to do with her imagination and where it can take her.

Of course, one of the most important elements when decorating a room is the furniture. Although your budget and the amount of space to work with may vary, you can still find great furniture for a girl's room. There are a lot of great furniture options to consider that will bring out her personality and will be used for years to come.

The first step for deciding on the furniture for a girl's room is to pick some kind of theme or inspiration. For instance, you could use her favorite colors to guide you. Some furniture is based on television shows or movies, and sometimes these themed sets can be a favorite for girls. Also take into account the space you have to work with. If children will be sharing the room, you might need to consider bunk beds, or if the room is small you will want to be careful how much furniture you try to fit into the area. Storage space is another factor. If the area is lacking places to put things, look for beds with drawers built in or shelves where toys and objects can be easily organized.

One common theme in many girls' rooms is bright colors. Although you might think that you would typically find pink on furnishings designed for girls, there are other popular colors that many girls love to have in their rooms. Green, purple, blue, yellow, and other colors can work very well in a girl's room, and there are many pieces of furniture that are quite colorful for you to choose from. Of course, you can always go with something more neutral and just embellish with a few accessories like bedspreads and pillows.

For a girl's room, you will need a few basic pieces of furniture. A bed, a dresser, a bedside table, and shelves can be selected individually or purchased as a matching set. You can find styles that range from regal and elegant to contemporary and modern. How you go about setting up the bedroom will depend on the girl's personal style preferences and her imagination.
