Bamboo Window Treatments

Today, natural products are a popular choice with consumers. We choose to use recyclable materials and more eco-friendly products. Bamboo is a trendy choice in window treatments just now because of its natural properties, versatility, durability, and low cost. You can choose from several types of bamboo window treatments including woven, roll-up, Venetian, matchstick, and Roman, to name just a few. Bamboo window treatments offer privacy, insulation against cold and heat, are truly easy to install, and they fit inside of most window frames so that they don't appear heavy, as drapes tend to do. You can paint or stain bamboo window treatments, move them about easily since they are lightweight, and count on them lasting for many years. More reasons to use bamboo window treatments are:

  • Many Styles. Bamboo window shades can be customized to fit into your room's decor, matching color, style, size, and structure. Some bamboo window treatments even come with privacy liners.
  • Energy Efficient. Bamboo window treatments filter light naturally, and help to insulate windows against heat and cold. Bamboo is dense yet lightweight and can help reduce energy costs by providing a layer of insulation. Yet bamboo also diffuses sunlight, reducing the need for artificial lighting.
  • Low Maintenance. Bamboo window treatments are extremely low maintenance. You never need wash or dry-clean them or take them down for regular cleanings as you do with sheers and drapes. Simply use a gentle cleaner occasionally, such as a feather duster or a Swiffer.
  • Versatile. Bamboo window treatments can be elegant, trendy, fashion-forward, or simplistic. Simply perform an online search for bamboo window treatments, or look at your favorite home improvement catalogs and magazines to discover just how many different ways bamboo is incorporated into window treatments. The designs are endless.
  • Green. Unlike some synthetic window treatments, bamboo is a natural material and some people believe that its properties can lend an aura to a room. Bamboo has been proven to have invigorating effects, and its natural look can turn a stark room into a more inviting area.

You may be surprised to realize how lightweight bamboo window treatments are. Even if you have a stacked set of Roman-style bamboo shades, they are about one-third the weight of other types of Roman window shades. Because they are so lightweight, bamboo window treatments are easily moved from one area of your home to the other, and will not damage hanging mechanisms.
